Material Technology
The durability and stability of Enduris™ technology comes from the inside out, starting with a fiberglass strand that makes it naturally fire resistant, dimensionally stable, and resistant to expansion and stretching due to heat. An innovative vinyl coating protects the fiberglass, providing additional durability with UV inhibitors, adding flame resistance, and also making the fabric colorfast to light.
As a material, glass has many significant benefits that make it good for screen fabrics. Manufacturing and resource benefits include:
- Glass fiber yarns come from natural & abundant materials. Unlike some synthetic compounds based on petroleum
- Glass is essentially a pure mineral and does not easily interact with materials in the environment
- State of the art production methods create finer, smoother yarns, yielding fabrics that look and perform better
- Reduced water consumption during the manufacturing process
Key features
- Glass is lightweight, but extremely strong
- High-performance levels for heat protection
- Strength and stability with elongation and stretching
- High resistance to heat and integral flame resistance
- Suited for installations which require Class A fire ratings
- Meets even the strictest European M1 and B1 standards for fire safety
- Glass is a natural material and is chemically inert
- Glass fiber yarns come from natural & abundant materials
- 57% of PVC coatings are salt-based, consuming less petroleum for manufacture than many other polymers
- Reduced use of non-renewable energy in manufacturing
